A new partnership forged between the Crown and the hapu in recent years ensures that Ruapekapeka is now protected and the site’s values and history are promoted for future generations. 

Managing the site
Ruapekapeka has suffered a history of neglect. Today, DOC, Te Ruapekapeka Trust, contractors, and volunteers maintain the site. Learn about the management history and view photos of the work carried out in recent years.

Projects
